Name Game Day 3

Congratulations Dear Friends...
You have successfully guessed our sweet girl's middle name- JANE!

Now for the first name...
Let's stay in the area of literature, this time, children's! Baby girl Jane Bassett's name is also the name of a Beloved Character in Children's Literature.

Below are pics from the Bassett family trip to Jefferson and Marshall last weekend! Good times:)

Lizzie and Daddy watching the ice skaters! Maybe next year they will be participants:)

Elaine was confused by all of the clothing we made her wear.

Someday, we will get a sister pic with both girls looking and smiling... someday!

Lainie loved the deer!

Waiting patiently for the tour bus to see all of the lights

Ready to ride!

It is quite possible that the luggage cart at the hotel was the biggest hit of the trip:)

Love my mountain man!

Name Game Day 2

Ok, thanks for playing Kristie and Whitney...
-Hannah was high on the consideration list for a middle name, but it didn't make the final cut:)
-And if this baby is a boy (which multiple others have mentioned as a possibility)... YIKES! I have some learning and shopping to do!

We love Classic Names, and this sweet girl will be no different from her sisters in that department. In fact, both her first and middle name are the names of Classic Female Authors:)

Sweet pics follow of baby girl's big sisters decorating cookies with Granny:)- a tradition in which I have been taking part since I was Elizabeth's age! VERY SPECIAL!

Everyone got flour on their noses, so fun to be silly with Granny!

And you thought I was a rookie! Look at me "roll, roll, roll!"

So much FUN!

Elaine thought Dancin' Santa was hilarious!!!!

My big girl!

Decorating... Elaine decided to eat a handful of red hots... not so bad until she bit into them!!!

I am so thankful my girls have their great grandma around and that she is a part of their lives! We love you Granny!

Name Game Day 1

Let the game begin...
So, with Elizabeth Grace and Elaine Karis, while we chose their names because we love them and their meanings are fantastic, their first names are family names (both of their grandmothers' middle names). This time around though, we have abandoned the E! Our precious girl's name still has great meaning, but it is not a family name.
Here are the meanings of our other girls' names to give you an idea of the kinds of meaning we go for around here.
Elizabeth Grace: God's Promise/Oath of Grace
Elaine Karis: Shining Light of God's Grace

I'll be back with more tomorrow:)
Here is a family pic where you can see evidence that our sweet baby girl is growing! According to my Doc, I am all baby. I definitely feel as though I am carrying her much differently than my other 2; my belly is sticking straight out! In another couple of months I am going to be quite a sight!

You may post a guess at any time:)

Oh Daddy We Love You SO!!!

Justin's birthday was on the 12th, and we definitely celebrated! A dinner at Hard 8 BBQ on Thursday with family and friends, a birthday date on Friday night, and then a little 24 hour road trip with just the 2 of us for a wedding in Tulsa. I just wanted to share the girls birthday cards to their Daddy:

Oh how this girl loves and admires her daddy!
From Lizzie:

The pic she drew is of a fort in case you were curious...

a girl who CANNOT get enough of her daddy!!
From Lainie:

a pic from vaca this summer-
sorry, I keep forgetting to ask someone to take a pic of us together recently!
And, from me- My sweet wonderful husband- It is such an honor to be called your wife! As we recounted the past several years together this weekend, it was impossible to not worship God and thank Him for the precious gift of you. The ways you love me, protect me, cherish me, challenge me, comfort me, forgive me, and encourage me are to numerous to list! God uses you so powerfully to teach me and grow me. Oh how I love you so!

What do you do at Lizzie School?

The question has been posed multiple times, "What exactly do you do at Lizzie School?" And, the answer is... Whatever we want:) I mean, I do plan, but the freedom to change our plans based on the weather or an invite from a friend is really nice! Lizzie is really interested in how things work, so we do a good bit of science related things, logic puzzles, and jigsaw puzzles. We sing our calendar songs and practice saying the date and also practice writing letters, specifically those in her super long name! Art is also a big hit for Elizabeth, and she loves to have guests (good friends) join her for Lizzie School. Below are are a few pics of Miss Lizzie Grace hard at work!

Following a fun fall leaf collection at Bear Creek Park!

Birthday cards make great puzzles!

Testing the surface tension of milk...

Add a drop of dish soap and Ooh La La! FIREWORKS!

A first attempt at writing her name! Not bad my dear:)

Free paint with Addie as a guest.

Backpack on and ready to go... It's Tinkerbell- a must for Lizzie school!

Another science experiment: mixing colors and...

What are the properties of plastic baggies?

Poke a pencil all the way through, and NO LEAK! Polyethylene, a component of most zipper baggies, has a shrinking property which causes it to shrink around the pencil when poked through the bag! Who knew?

Not from Lizzie school, just a funny pic of a mommy mishap! Elizabeth was watching me put on my makeup when I dropped my loose powder which hit the counter and then exploded in her face! Poor baby- I made her stand there blinded while I went and got the camera!
