It's been a while since we have updated this thing...and lots has happened. First of all, Elizabeth continues to grow and mature. She is really developing a cheerful personality and doing things with her is becoming so much fun. Last night, we had a daddy-daughter date (sort of). I loaded her in the stroller and we walked to Sonic, which is about 300 yards from our door step. Kyleigh got to come to. I literally felt like everyone was totally staring at us as we have a really beautful daughter and a really cute dog.
This past weekend, we took a family road trip to Angela's uncle's ranch in Charlotte, Texas (about an hour south of San Antonio) and we had a great time with her family. Texas is such a funny place. On the way back, Saturday evening, we encountered a freak snow/ice storm in mid-April!!! We were driving between Burnet and Lampasas (northwest of Austin) and had to pull over it was so bad. Come to find out, the one place in Texas that got 4+ " of snow/ice was in this area. The Texas Hill Country is absolutely beautiful and seeing it covered in snow is a rare treat. Usually people are raving about the bluebonnets this time of year, but snow in April??? Very strange.
In other news, CityView is going really well. We are celebrating our one year anniversary as a church this Sunday! A couple of weeks ago, I began the process of becoming an elder/pastor (we use the terms interchangably as Biblically there is no distinction) at CityView. It's pretty crazy, and I've never been part of church that places such a high view on leadership. To be a pastor, I am going through a 3 month long time of inspection, and I will be installed as a pastor on June 17th. During this time, I get to spend alot of time meeting with church members, get to attend the Acts 29 Church Planters Conference [next week in Vancouver] and get a couple preaching opportunites in May and June.
Elizabeth and her MaMaw (On Easter Sunday, we went to her house for lunch and spent time with Justin's family)
Angela is doing well. She is staying plenty busy with Elizabeth, subbing, and being the volunteer coordinator for CityView. We are so thankful for our parents during this stage in our lives as they continue to really help us out and are really great granparents for Elizabeth.
Nana took some great pics of Elizabeth: this one and the one at top when she watched her last Tuesday.
We will be on the road again this weekend (fri. and sat.) as we are going down to visit my sister and old college friends in good ole' College Station. I know we will have fun times as we will go to so many places that are full of memories for us. Hopefully it won't snow on the return trip this time.
