Break My Heart for What Breaks Yours!

I love times of corporate worship, especially at CityView! Lately things have been just a little crazy at CityView though- a good crazy- we are maxing out all of our kids' rooms! This however means I am typically running around on Sunday mornings like a crazy woman trying to make sure everything is covered, so I haven't had much time in service. This Sunday, I did manage to make it in there for a couple of songs, one of which was Hosanna. I love this song, and through many factors of late, the line "Break my heart for what breaks Yours" is particularly challenging. How often do I seriously ask the King for a broken heart? I just finished reading Same Kind of Different as Me, a must read if you have not already! I am not a very fast reader, and it took me less than 3 days to read it (Lizzie may have watched a couple more shows than usual on those days...) Anyways... there is a character named Debbie, and she is a woman who truly was so in tune with the Spirit that her heart genuinely broke for the things that break the heart of God. Not only did she allow her heart to be broken, but she was a woman of action and of faith concerning God's heart. Oh, Father, I long to, like Debbie, be broken for the things that break your heart and then to walk in faith and act as your Holy Spirit leads, abandoning all fear and selfishness.
For a good while now, God has been opening my eyes to the needs of single parents and parents who have moved here from other countries. It truly does break His heart that children are not getting the appropriate health care and nutrition, simply because no one has explained how to apply for CHIPS or WIC. His heart is broken that little boys and little girls are growing up without a daddy or any other male influence, making it very difficult to believe that a heavenly Father loves them. He is heart broken when parents escape to America for a better life for their children only to run into deception and all the cards stacked against them. I have envisioned a parenting center, complete with adult ESL classes, assistance in applying for government services, parenting classes, etc- a place that offers HOPE! While I am quite sure that this will one day come to be, I have been realizing that right now, God is still providing many opportunities to minister to hearts. It is really a matter of me walking in the Spirit and pushing aside my selfish agenda. There are mommies all around me that need a word of encouragement, a breath of hope, an advocate! Oh God, continue to break my heart for what breaks yours- so much so that I cannot help but walk in faith and action for your namesake!

Here are the lyrics to Hosanna- I would highly recommend purchasing Life Light Up by Christy Nockels- this is just one of many incredible songs!
Side note- as we have been singing this song a lot lately in our home, I love to hear my Lizzie belting it out! However, Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna in the Highest has become- Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna in Ohio :) Oh I love that girl-I suppose He is in Ohio too!

I see the king of glory
Coming on the clouds with fire
The whole earth shakes
The whole earth shakes

I see his love and mercy
Washing over all our sin
The people sing
The people sing

Hosanna
Hosanna
Hosanna in the highest [x2]

I see a generation
Rising up to take their place
With selfless faith
With selfless faith

I see a near revival
Stirring as we pray and seek
We're on our knees
We're on our knees

Heal my heart and make it clean
Open up my eyes to the things unseen
Show me how to love like you have loved me

Break my heart for what breaks yours
Everything I am for your kingdoms cause
As I walk from nothing to
Eternity

I also love this song!! We sing it in church a lot. In fact this last Sunday too! We sure are going to miss our church Crossbridge Community here in SA, but look forward to hopefully finding another great one in the Grand Prairie area. I love hearing the words from your heart Ang, I'm sure Jesus does too!

LOVE the new Christy Nockels CD. Blogged about it myself. :)

Love the post Ang. The bridge is my favorite part of that song. We sang it at church this past Sunday, right before we had a guest speaker from International Justice Mission. Amazing to see the connection.
